What Is DIRECT DAY?
DIRECT DAY, organized by Swiss Post Ltd., took place on November 19, 2019, in Bern, Switzerland.
The event is considered one of the most important gatherings in the Swiss dialogue marketing industry, bringing together professionals, innovators, and marketing experts from across the country.
As part of the program, Gabriele Hofinger, then Head of Marketing & Licensing at PEZ International, was invited as a guest speaker.
During her presentation, she shared valuable insights into content marketing and explained how the iconic PEZ brand positions itself in today’s marketplace.
A Special Event Giveaway
To commemorate the occasion, PEZ International created the beautiful DIRECT DAY Lovely Glitter Emoji dispenser and handed it out exclusively to event attendees.
It was a perfect way to leave a lasting impression and provide participants with a memorable PEZ collectible.
Only 1,200 Produced
Unfortunately for collectors, this is where the challenge begins.
Only 1,200 examples of the DIRECT DAY dispenser were produced.
Considering the number of attendees, it is likely that nearly every dispenser went directly into the hands of participants at the event.
Even more remarkable, collectors reported that no examples appeared on major online auction sites or collector marketplaces in the weeks following the event.
As a result, the DIRECT DAY dispenser has quickly become one of the most elusive modern PEZ collectibles.
The Hunt Is On
Of course, there is always hope.
Perhaps one day PEZ International will surprise collectors with a special giveaway through its social media channels.
Until then, we can keep dreaming and continue the search for one of the rarest modern PEZ event dispensers ever released.
