While working on our second PEZ Pictorial Checklist for 2016, we started wondering just how many NEW PEZ dispensers had been released so far this year.
And… BAM!
There were a lot more than we thought! 🙂

PEZ Checklist: January Through August 2016
We’re sure there are two groups of PEZ collectors out there: those who aren’t completely up to date with all of the latest releases, and those super-lucky collectors who already have all of the new dispensers and gift sets.
Either way, we hope you enjoy our new January through August 2016 PEZ Pictorial Checklist and that it helps you spot a missing dispenser or gift set for your collection.
How Many New PEZ Were Released in 2016?
Now for those numbers we mentioned at the beginning of the story.
From January through the end of August 2016, we counted:
62 NEW PEZ DISPENSERS!
Yes — 62 official dispensers made by PEZ in just the first eight months of the year!
You might think collectors in the United States and Europe received mostly the same releases.
Not even close!
USA vs. European PEZ Releases
Of those 62 new dispensers, only 11 were released in both the USA and Europe.
With the upcoming Trolls releases, that number was expected to increase to 14 by the end of the year.
The remaining releases included:
- 28 new dispensers from PEZ International, including Barky’s and Ben Pakulski.
- 23 new dispensers from PEZ Candy USA, including the TMNT Connectibles, Iron Man with light-up eyes and Captain America with the spinning shield.
But wait… that’s still not everything! 😀
Crystal Lovey & Convention PEZ
We had also seen 14 different Crystal “Lovey” dispensers by this point in 2016.
The Sweden Lovey was expected in September, while the German Lovey was scheduled for 2017.
Then there were the three Crystal Emoji convention dispensers from the United States:
- PEZcific
- NE PEZ
- PEZamania
And we can’t forget the 2016 Sweets & Snacks Expo dispenser!
The Grand Total: 80 PEZ Dispensers!
Add everything together and, by the end of August, we had:
80 PEZ DISPENSERS
officially made by PEZ!
Would you have guessed that? 🙂
And even 80 wasn’t the final number. The year wasn’t over yet, with more exciting new releases still to come.
