We turn the clock back to 2021, when PEZ surprised collectors with the very first online-exclusive dispenser for St. Patrick’s Day. What happened next has since become part of modern PEZ collecting lore: the dispenser appeared, and vanished, almost instantly.
With a strictly limited production run of just 3,500 pieces worldwide (2,000 allocated to the United States and 1,500 to Europe), the green PEZ Pal St. Patrick’s dispenser sold out in record time on both sides of the Atlantic.

Even PEZ itself was reportedly taken aback by the overwhelming demand and the speed at which collectors secured their pieces.
Since that milestone release, PEZ has established what can now confidently be called a tradition: each year, collectors can look forward to a brand-new St. Patrick’s Day dispenser.
For many of us in the PEZ community, this annual release has become a fixed highlight in the collecting calendar. True to the spirit of St. Patrick’s Day, the design language consistently revolves around vibrant green, the unmistakable ]color celebrated worldwide every March 17th. Year after year, PEZ manages to reinterpret this theme with creativity, charm, and attention to detail, delivering dispensers that feel fresh while honoring the holiday’s iconography.
This year, everything revolves around the motto “Lucky Duck.” Taking center stage is the classic PEZ duck, appropriately dressed for the occasion in festive green. Printed on the body of the duck is a black pot filled with gold coins, a direct nod to the legendary treasure of the Irish leprechaun. The pot of gold is a long-standing symbol of luck, prosperity, and Irish folklore, and it fits seamlessly into the St. Patrick’s Day narrative.

Naturally, the obligatory shamrocks are present as well. They appear both on stem, alongside the “Lucky Duck print, and within the pot of gold on the duck’s body. The detailing is cohesive and thoughtfully executed, tying together the festive elements without overwhelming the clean PEZ aesthetic collectors appreciate.

From the dispenser itself to the beautifully coordinated blister card design, the overall presentation is impressive. The packaging once again highlights the regional distinctions that seasoned collectors know well.
As usual, the only differences between the European and American versions lie in the blister card artwork and the included PEZ candy assortments, subtle variations that make both editions desirable additions for completists. For American collectors, the sweet green duck is available through the official U.S. online store of PEZ Candy USA. (Update SOLD OUT)
While European collectors can secure their version via the respective European PEZ online shop. To round off this year’s release, we’ve prepared two special pictorials for collectors: First, a complete overview of all PEZ Duck dispensers released to date, showcasing the evolution of this beloved mold through its many color and print variations.

Second, a full pictorial of all St. Patrick’s Day PEZ dispensers issued so far. What began in 2021 as a surprise online exclusive from PEZ Candy USA has since grown into a cherished annual tradition.

With that said, let’s embrace the spirit of the season and let everything shine in brilliant green, we’ve even given our blog a festive makeover to match.
Happy Collecting! 🍀
