As many of you in the collecting community already know, we are approaching a truly exceptional milestone in the history of our favorite brand. In 2027, PEZ will celebrate its 100th anniversary!
What some collectors may not have realized is that, according to the official information published on PEZ’s European website, the company was formally founded on April 2, 1927. That date marks the beginning of a story that has shaped generations of candy lovers and, of course, passionate PEZ collectors around the world.
The Official PEZ Centennial Countdown
An anniversary of this magnitude deserves a proper celebration. For months now, the marketing teams in both the United States and Europe have been working intensively behind the scenes, holding strategy sessions, planning campaigns, and developing exclusive surprises and special releases for 2027. For us as collectors, this strongly suggests commemorative dispensers, limited editions, anniversary packaging, and possibly event-exclusive items that could become key pieces in future collections.
To build anticipation, PEZ has launched an official countdown on its website, ticking down the days and hours until the big day. Naturally, we want to celebrate alongside the brand, so we have integrated the official countdown into our blog where, every time you visit, you can see exactly how much time remains until the 100th anniversary celebration begins. This centennial will also be celebrated in style at the VIP PEZ collectors’ meeting August 2027 in Vienna, an especially fitting location given the brand’s Austrian origins.
Just like you, we can hardly wait for the final days to tick away and for the anniversary year to arrive, especially to discover all the surprises PEZ has prepared for collectors worldwide. If the scale of the preparations is any indication, this will be a landmark moment in PEZ history.
