Let’s take a look back to January 2024, when the new PEZ International Sales & Product Catalog was released and we got our very first glimpse of the personalized PEZ MyHEAD dispensers.
PEZ MyHEAD quickly became one of the hottest topics in the collecting community, and many of us were absolutely thrilled by the concept.
The idea of turning yourself, a family member, or a friend into a PEZ dispenser was something collectors had never seen before, and the excitement was impossible to miss.
A Truly Personal PEZ Experience
The first major presentation of PEZ MyHEAD took place in February 2024 at the ISM Fair in Cologne.
Throughout the year, the service and its dedicated app were gradually rolled out and made available to customers across Europe.
PEZ MyHEAD gave collectors the unique opportunity to create a personalized PEZ dispenser featuring their own head—or the head of a friend or family member.
It transformed you and your loved ones into genuine miniature PEZ collectibles.
The process was simple: download the app, upload a photo, and customize your avatar. Hair, colors, facial features, and other details could all be adjusted to create a truly personal design.
Before long, your very own PEZ MyHEAD was born and delivered directly to your doorstep in an exclusive black gift box, complete with a specially produced PEZ MyHEAD candy pack.
The End of an Innovative Program
However, when this year’s product catalog was released in January, many collectors noticed something unusual: there was no mention of PEZ MyHEAD anywhere in the catalog.
Many of us suspected what this might mean, and unfortunately, those suspicions have now been confirmed.
It is with great disappointment that we have to report that PEZ has officially discontinued the personalized PEZ MyHEAD dispenser program.
The exact reasons remain unknown, but the decision may have been influenced by the significant amount of manual work required to process and refine customer photos, as well as the relatively high retail price of the finished product.
What we find particularly unfortunate is that PEZ did not announce a final ordering period before discontinuing the service.
We are certain that many collectors would have taken the opportunity to order one last dispenser—or perhaps even several—before the curtain came down.
For those who managed to secure their PEZ MyHEAD while it was available, congratulations. You now own a unique piece of PEZ history that can never be reproduced in quite the same way again.
PEZ MyHEAD may have had a relatively short lifespan, but it remains one of the most innovative and personal concepts PEZ has ever introduced.
It allowed collectors to become part of the hobby itself, turning memories and personalities into collectible dispensers.
As one chapter closes, the memories—and the dispensers—remain.
