Let’s take a trip back to 2018, when Jijonenca, a well-known Spanish ice cream brand, surprised us for the very first time with their summer release of ice cream cups, each one including a single mini PEZ dispenser. In total, four different designs were available. Collectors instantly fell in love. We knew right away that the mini Hello Kitty dispensers in pink and purple, along with the two mini emoji designs “Chilling” and “LOL-ing”, were absolute must-haves for our collections. These dispensers quickly made their way around the world, and today they’ve become hard to find, with collector values rising significantly.
Otto and Stuart Join the Jijonenca Mini PEZ Lineup
Then, for a few years, things went quiet. No new PEZ ice cream cups from Jijonenca, and collectors were left hoping for a comeback.
That changed last year, when Jijonenca delivered a fantastic surprise. Our Spanish PEZ collector friends once again had the chance to enjoy an ice cream cup, this time with the possibility of scoring one of three beloved characters from the Sonic the Hedgehog universe: Sonic, Amy, or Knuckles.
Now, as temperatures rise and summer returns, Jijonenca is back once again with a refreshing treat. This year’s cup features a delicious mix of vanilla and chocolate ice cream, and inside, collectors will find two new mini dispensers inspired by the latest blockbuster: the Minions! Keep an eye out for Otto and Stuart.
Just like before, these mini PEZ Minions are sure to travel far beyond Spain, making their way into collections around the globe.
