Scooby-Doo PEZ Returns with New Stems and New Details!
Scooby-Doo has been entertaining fans for more than 50 years. Since the classic cartoon first premiered in 1969, Scooby, Shaggy, Velma, Daphne, and Fred have become some of the most recognizable animated characters in television history.
In 2020, the Mystery Inc. gang returned to the big screen with the animated movie SCOOB!, telling the story of how the five friends first met.
To celebrate the new film, PEZ brought the Scooby-Doo collection back with an updated assortment featuring several fun changes for collectors.
A Worldwide Return
The original Scooby-Doo Gift Set debuted in the United States back in 2014.
This time, however, PEZ expanded the release worldwide, allowing collectors on both sides of the Atlantic to enjoy the Mystery Inc. gang once again.
What’s New?
Although the characters may look familiar, PEZ introduced several noticeable updates to the assortment:
* Scooby-Doo now features the classic SD logo printed on the stem.
* Shaggy returns with newly added facial hair.
* Daphne now appears on a purple stem.
* Fred moves from a blue stem to a new white stem.
* Velma now sports a few adorable freckles.
These subtle changes make the new assortment especially fun for variation collectors.
Different Packaging Around the World
European collectors received the new Scooby-Doo dispensers on individual blister cards.
In the United States, the assortment was released as part of the standard retail lineup and also appeared in a beautifully designed Twin Pack.
We wouldn’t be surprised if even more packaging variations eventually joined the collection.
